Inaugural Celebra Grapevine Event – FREE  
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15 by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.  
 
This year, Grapevine will have its very own celebration! The inaugural Celebra Grapevine will take place on Sunday, October 16 from 3 to 6 pm at Peace Plaza, 815 South Main Street. Parking availability for this FREE event in the Historic Downtown Grapevine area may be viewed at bit.ly/3pdLGal. 
 
Celebra, which means “to celebrate” in Spanish, will the first celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month for the City of Grapevine.  The festival will hoor the contributions of Latinos, highlight local talent, and present a platform for sharing and learning.  The event will feature local popular entertainment such as Mariachi Pura Sangre, Sofia Pena, and Fusion Latina.  The program also includes local talent from Grapevine, as well as Academia Folklorico Musica y Danza who will be engaging all generations with a flash mob experience. Selfie stations for various Countries represented at this event will be judged by a distinguished panel - and the best artistic representation will receive a trophy. The first Hispanic Heritage Lifetime Achievement Award will also be announced during this family-friendly community event. 
 
Celebra will be a celebration for the community, by the community, with learning and sharing opportunities not only across cultures but also across generations.  The event is sponsored by Latinos in Grapevine, along with the Grapevine Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, 121 Community Church, First Baptist Church, and the Grapevine Community Outreach Center. 
 
Attendees will enjoy Mexican and Peruvian folkloric dance troupes, including 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade students from Silver Lake and Timberline Elementary schools. A flash mob experience will allow anyone to join in and Country booths will present an opportunity for attendees to learn about the countries represented, both in English and Spanish. Historical Walking Tour – Now through Saturday, October 29 
Take part in this fun and unique experience before it closes for the season! Grapevine’s Historic Main Street District is the oldest settlement in Tarrant County, originating under the Lone Star flag of the Republic of Texas in 1844, a year before Texas was annexed by the United States of America. Come stroll through time, and learn and explore on a guided tour of Grapevine’s history and heritage. Our visitor concierge guides will take you on a guided 90-minute journey including stops on Historic Main Street, Grapevine Vintage Railroad District, and the Settlement to City Museums to name a few. With structures and buildings dating from the 1880s to the 1920s, Grapevine is truly a Texan gem. Tickets are available at GrapevineTicketLine.com.

Connections: Special Needs Parent Group - Thursday, October 13 
Connections is a monthly meeting for parents of children with special needs hosted on the second Thursday of each month. Meet other families experiencing a similar life path and enjoy a safe space to share your story and hear from experts in the field. This month's guest speaker is Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and registered Play Therapist, Dr. Tracy McClung. Doors open at 6:45 pm with guest speaker beginning at 7 pm.

25th Annual Butterfly Flutterby – Saturday, October 15 - FREE  
Flutter into fall at the 25th Annual Butterfly Flutterby on Saturday, October 15, presented by Cook Children’s Health Care System. People and pets dressed in butterfly finery will parade down Historic Main Street during the Gossamer Costume Parade, sponsored by BrightView Landscape Services. The parade will be followed by LIVE butterfly releases, sponsored by Brightview Landscape, held at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens at Heritage Park, 411 Ball Street at 10:45 am, 11:45 am, 12:30 pm, with a final release at Nash Farm, 626 Ball Street at 1:30 pm. Enjoy an arts and crafts station, sponsored by Camp Bow Wow. Hear butterfly stories and learn more fun facts about butterflies at 11:15 am and 12:15 pm. Keep Grapevine Beautiful Joins 6 Stones for Happy To Help Saturday on October 22 
Keep Grapevine Beautiful is partnering with the 6 Stones Community Powered Revitalization (CPR) program on October 22. CPR assists homeowners who are struggling to make necessary repairs to the exterior of their homes. This is a very impactful joint effort between the organization, the City, various businesses, nonprofit organizations, and churches. ECO Talk: The State of Recycling - Wednesday, October 26

Keep Grapevine Beautiful is partnering with Verizon to plant trees in our parks on Texas Arbor Day. Citizen Foresters will assist, teaching about the importance of trees, proper planting, and care. Art Walking Tour 
Enjoy a guided walking tour and celebrate the public art of Grapevine.  With over 20 stops along Historic Main Street, visitors will discover an extensive and impressive bronze collection and murals. Guides will point out hidden gems and new art discoveries during the tour. Afterwards, stop by one of the seven fine art galleries or working studios, all within walking distance.
