Keep Grapevine Beautiful (KGVB) ECO Talk: DFW International Airport’s Environmental Affairs – Wednesday, September 28 - FREE 
DFW International Airport is ranked third in operations and is the second busiest airport globally with over 62 million visitors a year. To help offset the carbon footprint travelers create, DFW International Airport diverts food waste from select terminals and airline catering to North Texas farms and compost facilities. Blood Drive - Register TODAY 
We are teaming with Carter BloodCare on Wednesday, October 5 at two convenient donation locations. Please register to donate much-needed blood at one of the locations listed below. 
 
FACTS & STATS: 
- One in three people will need a blood transfusion in their lifetime 
- Every two seconds someone in the US needs blood and/or platelets. 
- A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 units of blood. 
- 1,500 donors a day are needed to have a stable three-day supply within CBC’s service area (Central, North, and East Texas). 
- 600 to 800 patients are in need of a blood transfusion within CBC’s service area. 
- 600+ blood drives per month are needed to help meet hospital demand.

Sunset Live! at The Botanical Gardens – FREE General Admission & VIP Tickets Available 
Join the Grapevine Parks and Rec crew for Sunset Live! at the Botanical Gardens, 411 Ball Street this Friday, September 30, and Saturday, October 1 for a live music journey down memory lane! Enjoy some of the best classic live music featuring your favorite genres each night. Bring the family or a date and your picnic blanket or chairs for an evening under the stars. Children will enjoy the Kidz Zone filled with fun activities for their age groups.  
 
Food, beer, and wine will also be available for purchase for those who do not bring their own picnic. VIP tickets are available at bit.ly/2XPBS56 for the Friday, September 30 show (only) and are $25 per person. The VIP experience offers the Bessie Mitchell House as your private event space, offering light fair appetizers, two beverage tickets, early access to the gardens, and reserved seating. VIP tickets are limited and will not be sold at the door. Free, general admission will also be available at the event (pre-registration is not required). Doors open at 6 pm and the live music will begin at 6:30 pm.

Elvis Gospel Brunch Starring Kraig Parker – Sunday, October 2 
Elvis Presley loved gospel music and no one pays tribute to Elvis’ gospel hits like Kraig Parker. Parker has toured the world for 20 years, astounding audiences with his powerful voice and likeness to the King of Rock and Roll.  His looks, moves, and voice are as close as it comes to watching Elvis. Parker has performed gospel shows with the Stamps Quartet and The Jordanaires, who both sang backup for Elvis. Wellness for Life – Mobile Health Unit at The REC – Friday, October 7 
The REC will be hosting the Texas Health Resources Mobile Unit for 3D screening digital mammograms. Women ages 40 years and older with no personal history of breast cancer, do not have breast implants, have no known lumps or other breast problems, are not pregnant or haven’t breast fed in the last six months, and have not received a mammogram in the past 12 months are eligible for the screening. Please bring your insurance card, driver license, or state issued ID to your appointment. Fully funded screenings are available to those who qualify. Grapevine Parks and Recreation is hosting a weekend of the best live music, fun activities for the kids, and more. We are looking for volunteers to ensure that this event goes off without a hitch! Volunteers are needed for either Friday, September 30, Saturday, October 1 or both.  This is a fun way to earn those volunteer hours needed for school or other groups. Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant – September 5 – October 3 
The Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant provides funding for litter prevention, waste reduction, and/or beautification projects. Your school, business, or organization may receive up to $3,000 to assist with your project. Examples of previous projects include the purchase of water bottle filling stations, trash carts, and landscape improvements. Applications will be accepted from September 5 through October 3 for the Keep Grapevine Beautiful Gives Grant program, sponsored by Sam Pack’s Five Star Subaru-Grapevine. Historical Walking Tour – Thursday, September 1 – Saturday, October 29 
Grapevine’s Historic Main Street District is the oldest settlement in Tarrant County, originating under the Lone Star flag of the Republic of Texas in 1844, a year before Texas was annexed by the United States of America. Come stroll through time, and learn and explore on a guided tour of Grapevine’s history and heritage. Our visitor concierge guides will take you on a guided 90-minute journey including stops on Historic Main Street, Grapevine Vintage Railroad District and the Settlement to City Museums to name a few.
